PURPOSE:To provide the title phosphor mixture which is excellent in luminescent brightness and color purity of luminescent color, free from the color defect of the afterglow, and excellent in brightness saturation characteristics and burning characteristics in terms of current density, which comprises a mixture of a particular long afterglow blue luminescent phosphor with a particular short afterglow blue luminescent phosphor. CONSTITUTION:The title phosphor mixture comprising a long afterglow blue luminescent phosphor (A) composed of a self-activating zinc sulfide containing a first co- activator, i.e., at least one member selected from among Sn, Pb, Tl, In, Ga, As, Sb, Bi, and Eu, and a second co-activator, i.e., at least one member selected from among F, Cl, Br, I, and Al, and a short afterglow blue luminescent phosphor (B) composed of an Ag-activated ZnS containing Ag as an activator and at least one member selected from among F, Cl, Br, I and Al as a co-activator wherein the amt. of Ag as the activator is at least 300ppm and 1X10<-6>-1X10<-2>wt.% based on the phosphor matrix. The mixing of the two phosphors A and B brings about excellent luminescent brightness and purity of luminescent color, prevents the occurrence of a color difference that the color of the afterglow is not blue, and brings about excellent brightness saturation characteristics and burning characteristics in terms of current density.
