PURPOSE:To obtain an ink jet recorder supector in frequency response and in gradation, by a method wherein a fall time constant of a pulse is varied with variation of discharge pulse voltage which is applied to a piezoelectric element. CONSTITUTION:Ink drops 5 are discharged from an orifice 4 by pressuring ink by quickly reducing the volume of an ink chamber 3. Further, retreat of a meniscus after discharging the ink drops 5 is made not to advance quickly and to not less than a specific quantity. Therefor, by slowly increasing the volume of the ink chamber 3, a driving pulse fall time constant when the ink chamber 3 is returned to the original state is varied according to a voltage value. Further, a driving pulse is quickly varied to a positive specific value to be continued for a specific time with a signal modulation part 8. Further, it is gradually decreased from the positive specific value to zero by a suitable time constant corresponding to a voltage value of pulse voltage. Thus, an ink jet recorder efficient in frequency response and in gradation can be obtained. |
