PURPOSE:To obtain the titled attractant showing excellent attracting effects on larvae and imagoes of Blattella nipponica, capable of effectively controlling by combining the attractant with a catching tool and an insecticide, comprising a specific compound as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:An attractant comprising a compound shown by formula I [Z is -NH2, -NH-R (R is lower alkyl) or group shown by formula II] or a salt thereof such as 1-dimethylamino-2-methyl-2-propanol, 1-amino-2-methyl-2-propanol or hydrochloride or stearate thereof as an active ingredient. Preferably the attractant compound is blended with a proper carrier such as a substance, e.g. cellulose, silicic acid or kaolin or a homopolymer, e.g. polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride or cellulose derivative capable of being molded into a filmy, fibrous, granular or spherical shape, impregnated into the carrier and contained or applied to the carrier and used. The ratio of the attractant compound and the carrier is preferably 0.5:100-1:4.
