PURPOSE:To form a clear cyan image having less absorption at a green color range by incorporating a specified pyrazoloazole type cyan coupler in a silver halide emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:The pyrazoloazole type cyan coupler is incorporated in at least one layer of the silver halide emulsion layers. In the formula, X is hydrogen atom., a releasing group capable of releasing by reacting with the oxidant of a color developing main agent, Y is hydrogen atom. or a substituent group, R1 and R2 are each a group capable of binding with hydrogen atom. Said coupler has a characteristics in which the pyrazoloazole ring of the coupler has the group capable of binding with hydrogen atom. R1 and R2 groups are exemplified by -SO2NHR, -SONHR, -CONHR, -C(-Ra, -Rb) -SO2NHR, -C(-Ra, -Rb), -SO2NHR or -C(-Ra, -Rb), -CONHR group (wherein R, Ra and Rb are each hydrogen atom. or a substituent group), etc. Accordingly, as the titled material contains said coupler, the clear cyan image having the excellent spectral absorption characteristics can be formed. |
