PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a memory and to execute the recording of voices of high quality by providing a detection circuit which detects the silence from the amplitude of a voice signal, a means for stopping the recording of the voice signal in a digital memory according to the detected result and a delay circuit for the voice signal. CONSTITUTION:In the case of recording, the voice signal of a voice input terminal 1 is detected by a detection circuit 15 and averaged in an averaging circuit 16, then it is compared with a reference voltage 18 by a comparator 17. When the signal is less than a certain value, it is considered as silence, and the signal of 'LOW' is transmitted to an AND circuit 12 so as to prevent the input of clocks from a clock generation circuit 8 to an address counter 7. Therefore, in the case of silence, the address of the digital memory 4 does not advance, so that the recording of the silence signal in the digital memory 4 is stopped. Thus, the recording of silence information in the digital memory can be prevented and the recording of voices of high quality can be executed. |
