PURPOSE:To enable the character dial of messages, different for every data terminal equipment by performing the registering processing or the changing processing of the message, correspondingly to the data terminal equipment, for a memory, storing the message for the character dial. CONSTITUTION:An exchange 103 is provided with a means, which transmits and receives a character information, corresponding to the registered message, and the character information, inputted from the data terminal equipment, according to a call from the data terminal equipment 101, and performs a calling processing. A storing means 105, contained in the exchange 103, is constituted so that the message can be registered correspondingly to the data terminal equipment 101. On the basis of the specified character information, transmitted from the data terminal equipment 101, a controlling means 107 performs the registering processing and the changing processing of the message, corresponding to the data terminal equipment. Besides, according to an instruction from a terminal equipment, connected to the exchange 103, it performs the registering processing and the changing processing of the message corresponding to the data terminal equipment. Thus, the message at the time of the character dial can be set for every data terminal equipment.
