<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of a block unit by transmitting first picture elements positioning at every (4X4) picture elements of a digital video signal without thinning them and sampling by means of sub sampling or transmitting second picture elements excepting said picture elements as they are. CONSTITUTION:O shows basic picture elements positioning at every four lines and every four picture elements. The basic picture elements at the ratio of one to a sixteen picture elements are not thinned but transmitted without fail. Picture elements shown by : They are compared with the mean value of picture elements data positioned in upper and lower lines. Picture elements shown by O: They are compared with the mean value of picture elements positioned in lines two lines vertically apart. Picture elements shown by square: They are compared with the mean value of picture elements positioned two picture elements apart towards right and left. Picture elements shown by X: They are compared with the mean value of picture elements adjacent to right and left. If a difference between original picture data and the mean value is below a threshold, the picture elements are thinned. Thus, transmission/thinning is applicably controlled not in a block unit, but at every picture element being a minimum unit.</p> |
