METHOD FOR CHECKING FUNCTION OF ANALOG QUARTZ TIMEPIECE

PURPOSE:To facilitate decision and to permit exact function checking without depending on the capacity of a measuring person by detecting the width of main driving pulses and the number of the times when correction driving pulses are detected as numerical information. CONSTITUTION:The rising time and falling time of the main driving pulses are obtd. from the time t1, t2 when the leak magnetic fluxes of an analog quarts (AQ) timepiece are generated are obtained. The time difference t2-t1 thereof is detected as the width of the main driving pulses. The rise of the correction driving pulses is detected from the time t3 when the leak magnetic flux is next generated and the presence or absence of the correction driving pulses is detected by confirming that the leak magnetic flux generated in succession is the fall of the correction driving pulses of the time t4. Whether the step motor of the AQ timepiece makes a normal operation or not is judged from the conditions under which the number of the times when the width of the main driving pulses obtd. in such a manner is above the standard pulse width is below the standard number of times and under which the number of the times when the correction driving pulses are detected is below the standard number of the detection times. The result of the judgement is determined as the result of the function checking of the AQ timepiece.
