PURPOSE:To enhance the availability of a machine tool by applying a single engagement position to a torque limiter for the feed drive device of the machine tool and automating the resetting of the limiter. CONSTITUTION:When torque equal to or more than the predetermined value is applied to a feed shaft 13 due to the driving of a servo motor 9, a torque limiter 30 having only one engagement position operates and a sensor 17 detects the load and outputs an abnormality signal A to an AND circuit 21, thereby showing the signal on a display part 3 and braking the servo motor 9 to an emergency stop. And an operator removes the cause of the load, presses an automatic reset button and releases the brake of the motor 9, if there is any abnormality in a feed screw 13. The brake 16 of the feed screw 13 is thereby operated, a manual pulse generator 20 is operated and and the motor 9 is reversed with generated pulses, thereby resetting the torque limiter 30 automatically. In this way, machine availability is improved. |
