PURPOSE:To exclude the influence of dust, iron powder, etc., by constituting a linear pulse motor by enclosing excitable magnetic teeth in a box body. CONSTITUTION:A linear pulse motor is equipped with a cross-sectional circle columnar shaft 1 having first magnetic teeth and a box 2, which is a supporting substance to install second magnetic teeth, and it is formed so that a magnetic section 1a and a non-magnetic section 1b will alternately range at equal intervals in a longitudinal direction on the outside circumference of this shaft 1. The box body 2 is composed of a hollow column 2a with an opening at an end and a lid 2b, inside which a ring 4, two electromagnets 5-6 wound around with coils C and a permanent magnet 7 are provided to a holder 8 of a foot magnetic substance. Thus, a scale is made by providing magnetic teeth 15 in equal pitches to the shaft 1, while a slider is made by providing electromagnets 5-6 in the box body 2. Dust, etc., are thereby so hard to collect on the scale that the motor can be used in an undesirable environment.
