摘要 PURPOSE:To manufacture an optical disk with superior signal quality extending over the entire area of a recorded signal, by prohibiting the recording of a signal on the boundaries of the outermost periphery and the innermost periphery of a V-groove forming area. CONSTITUTION:An aluminum disk on which copper plating is applied is used as a copper disk 8, and a V-groove is formed by cutting the surface of the copper disk 8 with a diamond stylus, and after that, a photo resist 5 is coated on the copper disk 8 as revolving the disk. The photo resist 5 is not coated along the surface of the V-groove, and is coated almost flatly due to surface tension. However, stages are formed at the initial cutting part and the ending part of the V-groove, and the surface flatness of the coated surface of the photo resist 5 is lost, and even when the signal is recorded on the surface, the signal quality is inferior. Therefore, the recording of the signal is always performed at an area where the superior surface flatness is obtained by evading the recording of the signal on the boundaries of the outermost periphery 13 and the inner-most periphery 12 of the V-groove forming area. In such a way, it is possible to manufacture a video disk with high density whose signal quality is superior extending over the entire area.
