PURPOSE:To prevent expansion and contraction of information on a drum by writing data on the drum after a galvanomirror is stably resonated. CONSTITUTION:A printing command is received to close an S/W 21 and to start a galvanomirror resonance circuit 201, and the start of resonance of the galvanomirror is detected by an oscillation F/F 22. A laser diode 25 is directly lit, and stable resonance of the galvanomirror is detected by signals of first and second reference position sensors 27 and 28. The photosensitive drum is rotated once and electrification, exposure, and removal of electrostatic charge are performed to initialize the photosensitive drum, and the drum is stopped after initialized and the laser is extinguished to hold information to be written on the drum. Thus, information which is neither expanded nor contracted is obtained on the photosensitive drum.
