<p>PURPOSE:To reduce energy loss by radially arranging a plurality of rectangular- shaped vanes onto a vertical rotary shaft and forming a large opened port on each vane and allowing the opened port to be closed by a small vane on the side where the vane does not receive wind and does not generate power. CONSTITUTION:The vanes 1 consisting of a plurality (four in the figure) of rectangular-shaped thin plates in erection form are radially arranged and fixed onto a vertical rotary shaft 2, and a desired windmill is constituted. A rectangular-shaped opened port 3 which is nearly concentric and symmetric to the vane is formed at the center part of each vane 1, and the opened port 3 can be closed by a small vane 4 jointed with the side edge of the opened port 3 by a hinge 5. Therefore, when the vane 1 is on the side where a force is generated by receiving wind, the opened port 3 is closed by the small vane 4, and receives a sufficient quantity of wind. When the vane 1 is at other position, the opened port 3 is opened by turning the small vane 4 around the hinge 5, and the air resistance is reduced.</p> |
