PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain an aq. dispersion liq. having low viscosity, superior flowability and stability when calcium carbonate is dispersed in an aq. medium, by using a specified water soluble copolymer as a dispersant in combination with water soluble anionic modified PVA. CONSTITUTION:A water soluble copolymer (A) having 1,000-80,000 number average mol.wt. is prepd. by copolymerizing 60-99.9mol.% (meth)acrylic acid (salts) with 40-0.1mol.% unsatd. dicarboxylic acid type monomer selected among maleic acid, fumaric acid and itaconic acid (salts). Water soluble anionic modified PVA (B) having 30-700 degree of polymn., 30-100mol.% degree of saponification and 0.5-20mol.% degree of anionic modification is also prepd. When 100pts.wt. calcium carbonate is dispersed in an aq. medium, 0.1-2pts.wt. component A is used as a dispersant in combination with 0.03-1pts.wt. component B to obtain a desired aq. dispersion liq. of calcium carbonate. |
