PURPOSE:To improve rectification performance and to increase motor efficiency and life of brushes, by setting the ratio of number of turns of coils in a forward position to the number of turns of coils in a backward position and the resistivity of brushes applied at designated values respectively. CONSTITUTION:A coil segment 22A, of which the starting edge is connected to a commutator segment 26A, is inserted into a slot 18B and a slot 18A, while its termination edge is connected to a commutator segment 26B. As to the other coil 22B inserted into the same slots 18B and 18A, its starting edge is connected to the commutator segment 26B and its termination edge to a commutator segment 26C respectively. Likewise, coils 22C and 22D are inserted into a slot 18C and the slot 18B, of which the starting and termination edges are connected to a commutator 26. The ratio of number of turns for coils 22A and 22C in forward position to the number of turns for coils 22B and 22D is selected within the range of 1.6-3.2 and the resistivity of brushes 28A, 28A1, 28B and 28B1 is selected within the range of 2.0X10<4>-8.0X10<4>muOMEGA-cm.
