PURPOSE:To economically produce the title glass molded article such as the preform for a pressed lens in a short time without generating a shear mark on the functional surface of the glass molded article by adopting a direct press system using a specified constitution. CONSTITUTION:Molten glass 12 is allowed to flow out from an orifice 11, and cut by a ring formed drum-type shear 15 and forming dies 13 and 14 so that a lower end 19 having a shear mark 18 is excluded. The cut molten glass block is then molded by the forming die in the drum-type shear 15 and the forming dies 13 and 14.
