MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a high-density magnetic recording medium having reliability by disposing a magnetic recording layer consisting of a partially oxidized thin ferromagnetic metallic film on one side of a high-polymer film and coating the other face with partially oxidized thin nonmagnetic films. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic recording layer consisting of the partially oxidized thin ferromagnetic metallic film 12 is disposed to one side of the high-polymer film 9 and the other face is coated with the partially oxidized thin nonmagnetic films 13-15. Then, the reinforcing effect by the rigidity of the partially oxidized films 12-15 is large even if the thickness over the entire part is reduced. Instability to the position control of the end part which is one of the important factors at the time of high-density magnetic recording with a rotary magnetic head is eliminated and the formation of the narrower tracks is permitted; in addition, the better envelope and the higher reliability are obtd.
