PURPOSE:To discharge an image-forming medium without any malfunction, by a construction wherein a gripper part is continuously restrained by a paper- discharging gripper-releasing part for a predetermined period while remaining in an opened state. CONSTITUTION:An end part of a paper is inserted and clamped between a gripper part 7 and a long side 3a. When a platen drum 2 is rotated in the direction of an arrow x2, an engaging part 9b of a gripper arm 9 is brought into contact with an engaging receiving part 15a of an auxiliary arm 15, and the arms 15, 9 in a body are brought into proximity to a tip part 24b of a releasing arm 24 on the paper-discharging side. When the engaging part 9b makes contact with an arcuate part 24c of the releasing arm 24, the gripper part 7 is separated from the long side 3a to enable the paper to be discharged, and the auxiliary arm 15 is stopped. The engaging part 9b is rotated together with the platen drum 2 while remaining in contact with the arcuate part 24c, so that the gripper part 7 is maintained in an opened state. Therefore, the paper can be surely discharged from a paper-discharging position.
