PURPOSE:To mitigate the requirement on the characteristic, increase the degree of freedom for the material selection, and simplify the process by using a thermosetting epoxy sealing agent as a substrate sealing agent and sealing the substrates in the discharge gas atmosphere to form a gas space. CONSTITUTION:After spacers 25 or substrate sealing agents 33 are arranged respectively on the peripheries of faces of substrates 11, 13 where electrodes are formed, the electrode 15 and the electrodes 17 are positioned so as to face each other at a right angle at the preset distance via the spacers 25 or sealing agents 33 and to be separately arranged, and a gas space 29 is formed on a gas discharge display panel 35. Next, an equilibrium state of the atmospheric pressure is obtained by the space 29 and a chamber 43, the discharge gas is guided 39 into the chamber 43, the sealing agents 33 are heated, and the discharge gas is sealed in the space 29. At the time of this sealing, the panel 35 is formed based on the hardening of the sealing agents 33 according to the property of the thermosetting epoxy sealing agents 33. |
