PURPOSE:To achieve flatness of an engine by arranging a carburetor on the shaft line of a crank shaft at the end part on the opposite side to the side to take out output of a crank shaft of the above engine and arranging an intake air passage at the outward margin in the diametrical direction of the above- mentioned end part of the crank shaft. CONSTITUTION:An engine unit 2 suited for an underwater scooter in an ocean leisure consists of an engine main body 5, a propulsive body 6 and an exhaust device 7. For engine main body 5, a front/rear split type crank case 9 is arranged between a pair, left and right, of cylinders 8, 8 which are so arranged as to oppose each other on the same plane. A front cover 10 is inserted in an opening 9c formed at the front end of this crank case 9 and hereby a crank chamber 9a common to each cylinder 8 is formed. In this case, a carburetor 31 is connected to the front of a front cover 10 through a manifold 14. And an air suction passage 50 is formed by the passage 14a of this manifold 14 and the suction hole 10a at the outward part, in the diametrical direction, of the front cover 10.
