PURPOSE:To nullify the total sum of cogging forces applied on respective salient- poles, by a method wherein the angle of respective salient-poles is set so as to be a predetermined angle from a relation between the number of magnetic poles of a field magnet and the number of the salient-poles of an armature. CONSTITUTION:Figures show the case in which the number of poles P of a field magnet is P=4 and the number of salient-poles (m) of an armature is m=3. In this case, the salient-pole 12, corresponding to one (1) pitch (90 deg.) of magnetic pole, is divided into 3 divisions of salient-poles 12a-12c having the angle of 30 deg.. Two salient-poles 12b, 12c among said 3 divisions are deviated to positions having the same phases to arrange respective salient-poles 12a-12c so as to have equal intervals with each other. The angle of a salient pole, opposing to the field magnet, is determined by a formula {(360 deg.XQ)/(PXm)}Xn. Here, Q is the greatest common measure of the number of magnetic poles P and the number of salient-poles (m) while (n) is an integer of 0<n<m/Q. According to this method, cogging forces may be reduced effectively.
