PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer recording medium imparting high value and high colorfulness, by incorporating a specified compound into a heat-fusible ink layer. CONSTITUTION:A glycerol ester derivative of formula I is incorporated as a vehicle component in a heat-fusible ink layer, in a thermal transfer recording medium comprising at least one heat-fusible ink layer on one side of a heat- resistant base. In the formula, R<1> is a residue derived from a higher fatty acid. The higher fatty acid may be a straight chain acid, an iso acid, an anti-iso acid, a steroid skeleton acid, an oxyacid or the like, and includes fatty acids having usually at least 12 carbon atoms, preferably, 17-41 carbon atoms. In the formula, R<2> is a residue derived from a dibasic carboxylic acid. The dibasic carboxylic acid may be an aliphatic dibasic carboxylic acid or an aromatic dibasic carboxylic acid. By this, an image for projection by an OHP can be formed which is excellent in color reproduction properties of a color record and high in transparency. |
