PURPOSE:To obtain the title homogeneous glass fiber roving mat with good productivity by applying a sizing agent to plural glass fiber rovings, winding the rovings in contact with each other at places, drying the rovings, binding the rovings at the contact places, chopping the rovings, and then depositing the chopped rovings on a conveyor. CONSTITUTION:The glass fiber is divided into plural groups, a sizing agent is applied to each group of fiber to bundle the fibers, and plural glass fiber rovings are obtained. The plural glass fiber rovings in contact with each other at places are wound, and then dried. The plural glass fiber rovings are bound to each other at the contact places with the sizing agent, the glass fiber roving group is used as the fiber roving, the split glass fiber roving is chopped to 60-200cm length, and the chopped rovings are dropped on a conveyor. The size (diameter) of the glass fiber to be used is preferably adjusted to 9-16mu, the number of bundles to 30-200, and the weight per 1,000m glass fiber roving (gr,tex) to 5-100. |
