PURPOSE:To improve durability and maintain the high performance by forming the sliding contact part between the rotor of a vane pump and the rotors of two plates for nipping a cam ring, from the material having high abrasion resistance. CONSTITUTION:When a rotor 18 nipped from both sides by two plates 24 and 26 revolves in a cam ring 22, each vane 20 slidingly contacts the inner surface of the cam ring 22, and pumping action is performed by increasing and reducing the capacity of a pump chamber formed between two contiguous vanes 20. At this time, the rotor 18 revolves, slidingly contacting a pressure plate 24 and a side plate 26, and the violent abrasion is generated between two plates 24 and 26. Therefore, the parts 24c and 26b which slidingly contact the rotor 18 are made from the material consisting of light alloy and fiber in compounded form, and the abrasion resistance of the sliding part can be improved, and the increase of the internal leak can be prevented, and high performances can be maintained.
