PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition, containing water-dispersible silica, a specific cationic and/or amphoteric acrylic resin, carboxylated olefinic resin and polyfunctional aziridinyl group-containing compound and having excellent solvent resistance, lubricity, hardness, etc. CONSTITUTION:The aimed composition containing (A) 0.5-250g (expressed in terms of SiO2) water-dispersible silica, (B) 0.5-600g cationic and/or amphoteric acrylic resin derived from a copolymer having a multilayered structure, >=15 deg.C Tg of the core part and <=10 deg.C Tg of the outermost shell part, (C) 0-600g cationic and/or amphoteric acrylic resin having >=10 deg.C Tg, (D) 5-600g cationic and/or amphoteric carboxylated polyolefin based resin and (E) 0.1-10wt.% polyfunctional aziridinyl group-containing compound in 1l composition for treating metallic surfaces consisting of iron, (alloy) steel and/or zinc (alloy).
