PURPOSE:To realize complicated motion leaving a device in a simplified and miniaturized shape, by making use of a cylindrical magnet on which multipolar magnetization is applied. CONSTITUTION:By applying the multipolar (four poles) magnetization on a cylindrical radial magnet, a coil 5 and a voice coil actuator can be obtained. And a focusing coil 1 wound on a circumference forms motion in a vertical direction (focusing direction) with an N-pole having larger pole width, and a rectangular tracking coil 2 forms the motion in a circumferential direction with the N-pole neighboring to an S-pole having narrow pole width. In other words, it is possible to realize two kinds of motion only with one cylindrical magnet. In such a way, an inexpensive voice coil actuator with a resulting high performance and miniaturization can be obtained.
