PURPOSE:To form a thick and oxide- ceramics layer free from cracking and peeling, by forming a hard layer of silicone coating on one side of a plastic base material and then laminating an oxide ceramics layer of a specific thickness on the above hard layer by physical vapor deposition method. CONSTITUTION:Silicone resin (methyl phenyl silicone resin, alkyd resin, modified silicone resin, etc.) is applied to one side of an arbitrary plastic base material and hardened by heating so as to be formed into a hard layer. Further, oxide ceramics (silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide, etc.) is vapor deposited to 1.0-10mu thickness on the above hard layer by a physical vapor deposition method to laminate an oxide ceramics layer. By this method, the thick-film oxide ceramics layer is allowed to adhere firmly to the plastic base material, and cracking and film peeling can be prevented.
