Test stand for simulating the behaviour of a drill string in a well, in which this well is simulated by a tube 4, 5 held at its ends by upper and lower support blocks 2, 3 carried in a movable and orientable manner by a support structure which preferably comprises a first rule 18 which carries the upper support block 2 and is mounted on a fixed horizontal support spindle 17, and a second rule 21 which carries the lower block 3 and is mounted on a horizontal support spindle 20 parallel to this fixed spindle 17 and carried by the first rule 18, rotation means being arranged between each rule 18, 21 and the corresponding support block 2, 3, with an axis of rotation which is perpendicular to the plane of the support spindle and of the longitudinal axis of this rule. <IMAGE>
