The invention relates to a safety element intended for delimiting a surface. The element comprises a container of elongate shape 2 capable of containing a weighty product, and stiffening means 11A, 11B, etc. arranged longitudinally on the container, the stiffening means being provided at their respective ends with a connection means to which it is possible to join a connection means of another safety element. The element is noteworthy in that the said container 2 and the said stiffening means 11A, 11B, etc. are made of pressed and/or bent sheet metal, and are connected to each other by fixing means.
