PURPOSE:To reduce the ignition temp. of coke-shaped hydrocarbon with no discharge of harmful gas and low cost by mixing the powder of copper chloride and the powder of potassium chloride at a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:A mixture obtained by mixing the powder of copper chloride and the powder of potassium chloride in the proportion of weight ratio 95:5-10:90 is used to accelerate the combustion of coke-shaped hydrocarbon. It is desirable to mix these two components in the form of the powder having about 10-200mu particle size. Through the power of the copper chloride only shows catalytic action for combustion to reduce the ignition temp. of the coke- shaped hydrocarbon, the coexistence of the powder of potassium chloride in the copper chloride accelerates the catalytic action remarkably. In his range of a mixing proportions, the combustion start temp. Ti and the temp. Tm at the time when a weight reduction rate reaches 1/2 are both remarkably reduced. At the proportion ratio of 90:10-30:70 of the powder of copper chloride and potassium chloride particularly, the reduction in the temp. Ti and Tm is remarkable.
