PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of the detaining means for a filter cloth and to simplify its structure without using relatively heavy accessory component parts such as a filter cloth detaining rod, a mount, etc., by fixing the detaining means formed with a string member to both sides of the upper end of the filter cloth. CONSTITUTION:A tape member 3 longer than the total width of the filter cloth 1 is sewn on the upper end of the twice-folded filter cloth 1 and protruded from both sides of the filter cloth 1, and both protruding parts are bent back on theirselves to form a loop part 4 as the detaining means. In this case, a tape member part 6 between both loop parts 4 and 4 is also sewn on the filter cloth 1, and the part 6 is used as the reinforcing strapped cloth for the filter cloth 1. One end of a coil spring 9 is detained by the end of the bracket 8 fixed to the upper end of a filter plate 7 and extending to both sides, and the other end of the coil spring 9 is hung on the loop part 4.
