THE METHOD FOR CONTROLLING OF ELECTRONIC CHANGE-SPEED GEARING IN VEHICLES

A hydraulic transmission system is controlled by a computerised electronic control unit(13) and this automatically drives an internal gear selection lever mechanism with a select actuator(710) for driving the lever in an X direction, and a shift actuator(720) for driving it in a Y direction. The control(13) selects the optimum transmission gear based on memory stored data, known as a shift-map. The shift-map, represents the optimum transmission gears corresp. to the automobile speed and the degree of depression of the accelerator pedal(13), these being monitored by a vehicle speed sensor(10) and a potentiometer(16) respectively. Rapid or abrupt depression of the accelerator pedal(14) is sensed by the pedal speed detector (18) which produces a signal causing interruption of the gear shifting operation.
