摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a fibrous adsorbent having improved adsorption velocity and adsorption capacity for uranium by allowing an adsorbent formed of fibers having amidoxime groups to react with a reaction product of formaldehyde and a phenolic compd. by heating. CONSTITUTION:An adsorbent comprising fibers having amidoxime groups are produced by adding acryl short fibers to a methanol soln. contg. hydroxylamine and transforming the short fibers to spherical fibers by forming an amidoxime compd. of the short fibers. A fibrous adsorbent having high strength is produced by allowing the adsorbent to react with a reaction product obtd. by the reaction of formaldehyde with a phenolic compd. by heating under an alkaline condition. Obtd. adsorbent has high adsorption velocity and high adsorption capacity for uranium. The procedure of the separation of uranium is easy, causing no splitting of fiber even if adsorption and desorption are repeated.
