PURPOSE:To simultaneously carry out phase modification continuously on output signals of an edition controller and to facilitate editing works by providing plural phase modification control circuits. CONSTITUTION:One phase modification control circuit is constituted of a tape position detecting circuit 23, subtractor 26, editing position inputting circuit 29, comparator 32, switch 33, phase modifying circuit 38, and switch 41. A VTR 18 is used as a recording VTR to be used as a reference for edition and VTRs 19 and 20 are used as reproducing side VTRs which output video signals for edition. Then addresses of editing positions of magnetic tapes loaded on the VTRs are respectively designated as A0, B0 and C0. The difference value between the addresses A1 and A0 of tape running positions to be used as reference for phase modification from the VTR 18 is respectively compared with the difference values between the addresses B1 and C1 and B0 and C0 of tape running positions for phase modification of the VTRs 19 and 20 in parallel with each other at the same time by means of comparators 34 and 36 and phase modification is performed simultaneously on the VTRs 19 and 20 against the VTR 18. Setting of the recording and reproducing side VTRs is performed by switching switches 33, 35, and 37.
