Slat for roll-up shutters which has a composite structure, consisting of a profiled outer shell 4-9 made of sheet metal and of a profile made of extruded plastic, having a cellular structure, inserted into the internal cavity of the said shell 4-9 and occupying at least a sizeable part of this cavity. The internal profile made of extruded plastic can match almost exactly the shape of the cavity of the metal shell, or else be similar to this shape. The cellular structure of the internal profile made of plastic can be the result of the presence of external walls 14-19 connected by partitions 16-17 which can be arranged in several ways. <IMAGE>
