PURPOSE:To stabilize the quality of a special shape tube and to improve the productivity of the tube by drawing a tube stock with the long axis side of a die facing to the longitudinal direction side of a winding drum and winding a special shape tube with the die moving in the longitudinal direction of the drum. CONSTITUTION:A winding drum 1 is installed in a column 4 so that the rotation axis of the drum 1 is vertical; a die 8 for forming a special shape tube is put on a supporting table 5 so that the major diameter direction of the die 8 is in the longitudinal direction of the drum 1. At the time of rotating the drum 1, a tube stock 6 wound on a rotation frame 7 is pulled out and is drawn by the die 8 through a guide roll 9 to be formed into a special shape tube 6a whose section is an ellipse or an oblong shape and is wound on the drum 1. The die 8 moves in the longitudinal direction of the drum 1 together with the table 5, so that the quality of the special shape tube 6a is stabilized and its productivity is improved.
