发明名称 METHOD FOR SETTING COMMON ELECTRODE BIAS OF LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE
摘要 PURPOSE:To minimize the time required for putting out of an active matrix liquid crystal display device by writing a DC voltage applied to a common electrode to the dot in the light state of said device and selecting said DC voltage. CONSTITUTION:An undesired DC component is added to a signal voltage to change the same to a negative side and to lower the response speed when a scanning electrode changes to an 'L' during driving of the active matrix liquid crystal. A common voltage to offset this DC component is supplied to the common electrode of the display panel. Namely, the response speed of the liquid crystal is such that the response time T is shortest when the DC voltage to be impressed to both electrodes thereof is min. Vmin and the time for switching to putting out increases when the DC component of the positive or negative polarity increases. The display device is lighted by previously offsetting the writing voltage at OFV with respect to the common potential and is put out by setting the writing voltage at the common voltage. The common voltage is visually regulated to prevent remaining of the after image and the undesired DC component from the outside is set at Vmin. The life of the liquid display device is extended by this constitution.
