摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the heat exchanging efficiency by dividing a holding chamber into plural levels, forming a chute opening in the periphery of the bulkhead, disposing an exhaust opening on the counterprimary temperature chamber side through which gas at the primary temperature is discharged after being turned to the secondary temperature by exchanging heat with granular material, and disposing a reciprocating pusher in the primary temperature chamber. CONSTITUTION:Granular material S coming from a supply pipe 6 fills a lower level 22 through an upper level 21 and a chute opening 9. It is deposited on a bulkhead 3 and bottom wall on the side which is open to the primary temperature chamber 1. Hot gas in the primary temperature chamber 1 directly heats the sloped part of the granular material and exchange heat with the granular material. The gas gradually becomes at lower secondary temperature and is discharged out of exhaust pipes 7, 8, 10. The granular material is heated most at the sloped part, and, is pushed inwardly by pushers 2A, 2B at a suitable timing to be chuted down to be removed as product from an outlet 14. The granular material remaining inside successively comes to the sloped part. However, that which is located deep in the level 21 and cannot reach the sloped part is heated for a long period of time in the lower level 22 through the chute opening 9, and is chuted from the sloped part.
