A method to extract and purify protein from a paulownia seed is presented. Thus, paulownia seeds are crushed and treated with hexane to remove lipids at 0-35↿C for 5-100 min. After fractn. to remove organic solvent, defatted seeds are treated with H2SO4 at pH 6.5-8.0 and filtered. The precipitate is neutralized with 0.5 M NaOH. The neutralized protein and the soluble protein are mixed together and sprayed to give the final product (purity >= 85%).
