PURPOSE:To achieve a higher reliability of a connection of a lead terminal, by holding a moisture sensitive base body with an enclosure to accomplish electric connection with a contact between precious metals. CONSTITUTION:A moisture sensitive base body is so arranged that a gold electrode 2 is baked on both main sides of a moisture sensitivity sensing body 1 with a part thereof bulged to facilitate the covering with an oxide electrode and then, a ruthenium oxide electrode 13 is baked. An enclosure 4 of a moisture detection element is provided with a vent 5, a moisture sensitive base body holding section 6 and a lead terminal 7, which is imparted a springing property at connection with the gold electrode and further plated 8 with gold. The moisture sensitive base body can be held by interlocking two enclosures of this type to obtain a moisture detection element.
