Dewatering centrifuge for sensitive products

In this dewatering centrifuge a conically widened centrifuge basket is provided which is caused to oscillate axially in order to transport the material for centrifuging. In order to collect in a non-damaging fashion the dewatered material for centrifuging which flies away tangentially at the external edge of the centrifuge basket when in use, the collection space provided for this is constructed in such a way that its wall penetrates the plane, extending from the outer edge of the centrifuge basket, at an angle to the axis of rotation which is at no point substantially smaller than 90@, the continuing wall of the collection space being arranged in each case at an angle to the axis of rotation which diminishes as the distance from this plane increases, and carries on into the discharge pipe via the funnel element. The wall of the collection space can be constructed as annular elements in such a way that annular jets are formed which feed air out of the surrounding pressure space into the collection space in such a way that the ejected parts of the material for centrifuging are slowed down, deflected and thus their impact on the walls of the collection space is reduced.
