PURPOSE:To ensure that outputting of printing characters or the like with uniform density to an ink ribbon is started immediately after the start of an operation, by composing an ink-transferring means of a belt mechanism driven by a pulley on one side and an oscillatable plate by which the entire body of the belt mechanism is supported so that it can be oscillated with a support shaft part for the driving pulley as a center. CONSTITUTION:With a driving shaft 10A driven, the entire body of an ink-transferring means 7 is turned in the direction of an arrow B, and an ink ribbon 20 is circulatively fed in the direction of arrows C. When the driving shaft 10A is released from external drive, a driving pulley 10 and an idle pulley 9 are rotated in the same direction under a slight inertia force. In this case, a belt 11 is also moved in the same direction, but the tension on the belt 11 is already made uniform over the entire part of the belt 11. Therefore, the belt 11 is slightly moved circulatively in the direction opposite to the direction of an arrow B in rolling contact with an ink-delivering surface 5E, and the belt 11 is separated from the ribbon 20 on the side of a back-up roller 6. Accordingly, at the time of stoppage of the feeding of the ribbon 20, the ink transferring means 7 is securely separated from the ribbon 20, except at the part of a pinch roller 12.
