Crops, seeds, tissue cultures and cut flowers are protected from stress by application of polyamines and acid salts of such polyamines. The polyamines of this invention are represented by the general formula: H2NCHRCHR(-NHCHRCHR-)nNH2 where n represents an integer of from 1 to 3 and R represents either hydrogen or a methyl group.
