PURPOSE:To perform preliminary ejection at an appropriate time interval, by carrying out a preliminary ejecting operation through leading a recording head to the exterior of a recording range according to a recording command signal from a controlling means, and supplying a resetting signal to a time means upon completion of the preliminary ejecting operation. CONSTITUTION:With a recording signal SP supplied from a main controlling part 18, a signal SA to be outputted to an AND gate 36 is brought to an 'H' level, and an AND output to a preliminary ejection circuit 37 is brought to an 'H' level, whereby a motor is driven through a carriage-controlling circuit 30, and a carriage is returned to a home position. Thus, a driving signal is supplied from the circuit 37 to a head driver 16, and preliminary ejection from a head nozzle is carried out. When the preliminary ejection is finished, a timer circuit 38 supplied with an end signal SE starts counting time pulses. Simultaneously, a flip-flop circuit 35 is reset, and the output to the AND gate 36 is brought to an 'L' level. Therefore, the preliminary ejection circuit 37 is not operated. Then, when the count on the timer circuit 38 reaches a preset value, a series of preliminary ejecting operation is conducted through the circuit 37. |
