PURPOSE:To enable formation of parts, represented in braille, with a three- dimensional protrusion by causing heated protrusions to contact thermoplastic sheets or films and thereby forming three-dimensional protrusions which represent brailles. CONSTITUTION:Character segments 13 have fitting parts 13b which fit into grooves 11a so that it may be freely attached to or detached from the grooves 11a of a roll 11. The roll 11 contains nichrome wire 11b running internally so as to allow a protrusion 13a for printing brailles to be heated. For printing, thermoplastic sheets or films 14 are continuously supplied into between the roll 11 and a pressing roll 12. The thermoplastic sheet or film 14 is made of various thermoplastic resins such as polyvinyl chloride and polypropyrene, and three-dimensional protrusions 15a which represent brailles through contact with the protrusions for printing brailles 13a are formed. It is desirable to provide a brush surface 12a on the surface of the pressing roll 12 so that the roll may not be damaged, even if it collides with the protrusion 13.
