The prepn. of micrometals for the addition into feeds comprises mixing a salt of Zn++, Fe++, Cu++, Co++, Mn++ or I- with polysaccharides or proteins, being gelled by adding a basic substance to the mixture, being microcapsulized by adding an inorganic acid salt of alkali metals or alkaline earth metals, fitering and drying. The basic substance is a hydroxide or a carbonate of alkali metals, a bicarbonate or a liquid ammonia.
