PURPOSE:To attain convenient handling by providing a display section displaying information while its upside is turned over when a portable radio equipment is fitted to a cloth of the user or a baggage. CONSTITUTION:In desiring to turn over a character, a turn-over display mode switch 4 is turned on and a control signal of a control circuit 13 is inverted and a dot signal of character information stored in a ROM in an address circuit 5 is read in the opposite order to that at normal readout. Then in displaying the character in dots on the display device 3, the character is displayed while being its upside is taken down. The function is utilized and when the user reads the character displayed on the display device 3, the portable radio equipment 1 is fitted to the cloth or its baggage, the display mode switch 4 of the portable radio equipment 1 is turned on to turn over the displa character. In observing the character displayed on the display device 3, the character is displayed in a direction along which the user can read the character correctly aud readily. Thus, convenience is offered.
