The device is intended for the filtration and stabilisation of liquids, in particular in the food and beer brewing industry. The filter candles (6) prepared for continuous flow are connected at the bottom end to a bottom branch (10) of a manifold (9). At the opposite end, they open out into a shared collection space (5) in which is accommodated an inlet (7) into the top branch (8) of the manifold (9). For the purpose of effective control of the liquid flow through the filter candles (6) which is possible in both directions, the bottom and top branches (10 and 8 respectively) of the manifold (9) are provided with shut-off valves (12 and 11). The feed line (13) of the filtrate and the filter medium is likewise divided into a bottom and top branch (15 and 14 respectively), in which are arranged shut-off valves (17, 16). <IMAGE>
