PURPOSE:To reduce the occurrence of poor folding, by a method wherein a vertical folding part and a horizontal folding part are situated, in order named, along the conveyance direction of a work, and after the work is vertically folded by means of a rotor situated to each of the folding parts, the other side is horizontally folded subsequently to the one side. CONSTITUTION:The width of a first conveyor belt 5 is set to 1/3 of the length of a work, and the work is placed sideways on the belt 5. Thus, both ends of the work are extended 1/3 thereof each from both sides of the belt 5 and a fold is regulated by means of the belt 5, and the work is folded vertically downward by means of a bent surface 13 of the rotor of a vertical folding part 1. The work is moved along a guide plate 7 with the aid of a third conveyor belt and holding belts 3 and 4 on both sides and on the upper and the lower side. The work regulated by the guide plate 7 is orderly horizontally folded by means of the rotors, on both sides of the work, of a horizontal folding part 2. Thereby, the rotation center of each of the rotors on both sides is displaced by a distance of l. The work is delivered to a second conveyor belt 6.
