PURPOSE:To detect loaded condition during operation of an apparatus by providing the first and second sensors respectively adapted to detect one projecting portion and plural projecting portions in a laser printer or the like. CONSTITUTION:When a load side pulley 14 is driven to rotate by a driving motor 13, simultaneously a timing pulley 7 of a detecting unit 1 is rotated by a timing belt 10. When a projecting portion 3 of the timing pulley is detected by the first magnetic sensor 8, a timer 25 having time period corresponding to two rotations is started through an amplifier 22. Within the time period of the timer, the second magnetic sensor 9 detects plural, for example, twenty projecting portions 5A, 5B... per one rotation, a value counted by a counter 26 through an amplifier 24 is compared with a reference value of a setting circuit 28 by a comparator 27, and the comparison value, that is, loaded condition is displayed in a display circuit 29. Thus, the loaded condition can be detected while an apparatus is operated.
